1. Reserve equipment early to ensure availability.
  2. Ask to see rental equipment.
  3. Ask to see pictures of rental company events.
  4. Ask for references.
  5. Ask about additional fees or charges.
  6. Request emergency phone numbers.
  7. Request proposals, sign them, and request a signed copy. Remember, a contract is only good with both parties' signature.
  8. Ask about damage waivers. Damage waivers are not insurance policies, but they will cover any accidental damage to equipment.
  9. Ask if you will deal directly with the same coordinator throughout you event to help alleviate confusion.
  10. Ask if they will help you find something you need if they do not carry it.
  11. If you are referred by someone, please tell your coordinator, a reputable rental company will thank them.
  12. Always pay a deposit to reserve equipment, most companies will not "hold" equipment without it.
  13. Ask questions. The rental company should be very willing to answer them, after all, they are the ones with the answers.
